Tilou Kanawa, located in Salybia, Kalinago Territory, is more than just a restaurant—it’s a cultural experience. Specializing in authentic Kalinago cuisine with a modern touch, Tilou Kanawa is dedicated to preserving and promoting Kalinago heritage.
Owned and operated by Natasha Green, the space also features a souvenir shop showcasing handcrafted traditional canoes, leather key rings, and souvenir t-shirts, offering visitors a deeper connection to Kalinago craftsmanship.
The name, meaning "Little Canoe," pays homage to Natasha’s Kalinago roots and serves as a tribute to the nearly extinct language of Dominica’s first people.

It was my first time eating cassava bread and I must say I absolutely loved it! The cassava tacos are my favourite and I always look forward to eating at Tilou Kanawa every time I visit the Kalinago Territory. I highly recommend eating there. Customer service and presentation of the meal is second to none.
