Fiona Compton
Fiona Compton is a Saint Lucian photographer, artist, filmmaker, and historian whose work is rooted in a singular conviction: that the Caribbean story deserves to be told fully, truthfully, and beautifully.
After graduating from the London College of Printing with a BA in Photography and studying at Central Saint Martins, one of the world's most prestigious art institutions, Fiona built a career photographing some of the most influential figures in finance and banking for the UK's largest publishing houses. Over time, her lens evolved into something far more powerful.
Her films have been screened from Los Angeles to Russia, winning Best Documentary and Best Director at the Caribbean Film and Fashion Awards, and her work has been featured by the UK Cabinet Office.
As a cultural consultant, Fiona has worked with leading museums, institutions, and global corporations on conversations around decolonization and reparative justice. She served on the board of The World Reimagined, a UK-wide initiative transforming how Britain understands the history of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
As part of that project, she co-created the globe sculpture Fire and Fury, exhibited across multiple UK cities before being placed in London's Trafalgar Square. She has also served as Historian in Residence at the National Maritime Museum in London and is an official ambassador for Notting Hill Carnival, the second largest street festival in the world.
