Inspired by the Negro Motorist Green Book, published during the Jim Crow era in the U.S.A between 1936 and 1966 - the Green Book offered Black and Brown people key information on businesses and accommodations that would safely cater to their travelling needs.
Decades later, although not experiencing the horrors of Jim Crow, the Caribbean experiences it's own economic and racial disparities. So how do those who want to visit this beautiful region know where to go if they want to support locally owned businesses?
Through the Caribbean Green Book
We have curated this database of Caribbean owned businesses, like hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and services so you can support local economies. Millions of dollars spent in the Caribbean does not end up in the hands of hardworking Caribbean people, but in the hands of foreign owned companies. The Caribbean Green Book is here to change that.
